Balvenie Single Malt 12 Year Old Scotch 700ml is a renowned whisky, launched in 1993. Matured in traditional whisky casks, American oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, the spirit is mellowed and gains warming notes of vanilla and spice. To add complexity, it is then transferred to ex-Oloroso sherry casks for nine months, which imparts rich, honeyed fruitiness. Finally, the whisky is transferred to “tuns” for 3-4 months to bring its components together. An ideal introduction to matured whisky, this makes an ideal whisky gift. Its flavors of nutty sweetness, cinnamon spice, and sherry are unmatched when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water.
